Fae Protection Bands
What it is
Fae Protection Bands are a visible, in‑game sanctuary that signals “please don’t physically attack me.” While protected, you cannot be attacked by creatures or players anywhere in the mists. In daylight, wear a gold armband; after dark, wear the glowing wrist ring.
Lore note: The bands are a fae pact of peace—break the pact and the magic ends for you for the rest of the event.
How to get one
Visit The Archives to opt in (even if you didn’t choose it at sign‑up).
You’ll receive both: the gold armband (day) and the glowing bracelet (night). Wear them whenever you want protection.
Where protection applies
General play around the Village and camps. If you’re wearing the band/bracelet, others may not attack or poison you.
No‑combat zones (for everyone): tent areas, dinner queue, indoor structures, designated safety zones, religious sacred sites, The Archives, and Counting House.
When protection doesn’t apply
Battlefields: The protection effect does not apply during organized battles. You can fight (and be fought) in battles without losing your protection status. Protection resumes after the battle ends.
Tournaments & Sparring: You may freely participate; these do not count as aggression.
Talking heat: Shouting/roleplay arguments are fine. The ring only covers physical actions.
You will lose protection for the rest of the event if you do any aggressive action, including:
– Striking someone with a weapon.
– Body‑blocking or using your body as a shield in a fight.
– Rushing into an ongoing altercation to “break it up”/“de‑escalate.”
If you lose protection: return your armband and bracelet to The Archives and let them know what happened.
Etiquette & gameplay tips
See a band/bracelet? Don’t attack them. Find non‑violent ways to interact (negotiate, scheme, trade, intrigue).
Want to acquire an item from a protected player? Use cunning, social or system tools—not force.
Do not remove and re‑wear your band to bypass rules. That’s cheating the pact and the culture.
Penalties for tampering
Removing and re‑wearing your band to bypass rules triggers a 10‑Crown fine. If you can’t pay, the cost passes to your House, then your Kingdom.
Quick FAQ
