The Carta Arcanum is the metagame of Hynafol. It keeps the world alive between events by tracking land, buildings, resources, trade, war, and big narrative choices on a shared hex map. It gives every action weight so that what players do in the field, at court, and at the Counting House shapes the setting for everyone.

How it works

Claim and settle land
Play happens on a hex map. Houses and kingdoms claim territory, then develop it into Homesteads, Shires, Villages, and Cities to place buildings and grow power.

Build and produce
Basic and Advanced buildings generate resources and train units. Unique, Defensive, Mercantilism, Trading, and Garrison structures unlock special effects, protection, income, and military capacity.

People power the world
Citizens become Peasants, who fuel construction and can be trained into specialists that boost production, enable domain actions, and staff armies.

Trade and keep accounts
The Three Crowns Counting House handles deposits, withdrawals, purchases, upkeep, and market interactions. Caravans and ships move goods and face risks en route.

Fight, scheme, and take domain actions
Armies deploy to defend or invade. Domain actions let leaders bend politics, commerce, religion, and magic to their goals. Success earns Renown that opens more options.

Progress over time
Actions resolve on an event cadence. Upkeep and auctions keep the economy moving and ensure neglected holdings can change hands, keeping the world dynamic.
